Last thursday night, we heard a big blast outside and also some a brief display of fire near our main 11kV transformer. We spent the night wothout power. When I came back from work on friday evening and switched on my radio, all my calculations came true. The RFI is gone! Perhaps the cause of [...]

16-Jan-07Station update
09-Dec-06It’s long long time and the year is ending too, so time for an update. Nothing much is happening here on Ham Radio front for lack of time. There is not much of time for just about anything and that’s bad. I need to fix it soon. The job is eating all my time. Last [...]
Update
25-Sep-06It’s long time since I posted anything here. It is partly due to laziness, partly because of busy life and partly because nothing worth reporting happened in my life. My Amateur Radio activities have come to a standstill, I am sorry to say. I am unable to operate (even recieve signals) as there seem to [...]
PIC-A-STAR update
17-Aug-06The IF board is nearing completion. Still a lot of work needs to be done before it can be declared complete. I will publish pictures once it is complete. It is ugly! Time to fix up the LC meter and prepare the toroids.
Blackfin BF537 STAMP
03-Aug-06Yesterday I got myself a serial cable with one side as plug and the other side as socket (which turned to be of very low quality, but neverthless useful at the moment) for connecting my new Blackfin BF537 STAMP board that my friend David Rowe sent me. This morning, I hooked it up and applied [...]
radio hacking
19-Jun-06Not much has happened in the last few days, I was too busy at work. It will continue to be so in the foreseeable future. I drilled holes in the IF board, but that pretty much about it, didn’t get a chance to work on it. The feed through capacitors should be arriving real soon. [...]
AF Amplifier is assembled
10-Jun-06The AF amplifier for STAR is done. It is yet to be tested but I do not expect too much of problems. I am looking for 9 Mhz or 8.83 Mhz Crystal Filters. If anyone know a source please let me know.
I have created Debian packages for ngspice. It’s available for download at: http://www.zerobeat.in/ngspice/ Please send in your valuable comments to improve this package. This package will never hit Debian Main archives for licensing reasons. I have done only minimal amount of testing on the debian packages but it appear to work fine in the first [...]
ngspice up and running
29-May-06Finally got ngspice-rework-17 to run on my Debian system. There seem to be some issue with the autoconf scripts. A make clean does not really clean all the generated files. But I could get it to compile with readline, xspice and cider. Now back to work!
Life, Ham Radio and everything else
27-May-06It has been a while since I wrote anything. It was a bit tough last few weeks with the new job and other household activities waiting to be finished. Things are slowly clearing and I hope to be back in action. In the little time I was able to squeeze in, I was continueing my [...]
