Radio active Life

by Ramakrishnan Muthukrishnan

There is a lot to report, but in short, life had been quite nice past month. A lot of things got accomplished in the last month and looking back, I am quite happy about my productivity, it was one of the most productive months I ever had. I built Tony Park’s Softrock RXTX v6.2, I did an extensive spreadsheet analysis for the HPSDR Phoenix with Johan Maas, PA3GSB and am also laying out an experimental board with gEDA, which serve as the baby steps towards HPSDR Phoenix, worked on porting Kawk’s USB JTAG code into HPSDR Ozy, but without much success and so on.

I also collected and read almost all of the available literature on Quadrature Sampling Detectors (QSD), which was re-invented by Dan Tayloe, N7VE. Right now usage of this wonderful topology cannot be used at higher frequencies because of limitation in the switches, but I hope the technology advances will make it happen one day.
A lot of exciting stuff is ahead. I want to get back to getting the USB-JTAG board to work and also get my experimental phoenix-lite to work. Johan has already done some work on it and I will be using his and others’ work.
