I was shocked to hear the news of Mike KL7R‘s death in a car accident in Hawai on 24th Jan. Mike and Bill M0HBR brought us the great podcast soldersmoke. I had regular email QSOs with Mike and Bill and the last email exchange I had with him was on Jan 17th.
Mike has left behind some good number of hours of wisdom in his own voice and I think it is one of his greatest contributions to the hobby. During the days of my RFI when I was feeling frustrated, soldersmoke was the only source to keep myself motivated.
